Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Raja Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Ali bin Hj Awang Md Daud, president of Brunei Darussalam National Scouts Association, recently received the 'Silver Lion' Award from the Singapore Scouts Association at the Presidential palace.
The 'Silver Lion' Award was presented by Mr S R Nathan, the president of the Republic of Singapore in his capacity as the head of Singapore Scout Association.
The award honoured Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Raja Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Ali's contribution to young people through excellent service to the scout movement.
Also receiving the award were scout leaders of Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
The Silver Lion Award is conferred on adult leaders who have served the Association with great loyalty and whose contributions have made a significant impact on the Scout movement in Singapore.
Err... why give foreigners then???
Being a scout himself, no wonders he gives this award...

Indian man retracts statement, jailed for 25 years
An Indian national who tried to retract his admission to having consensual sex with his stepdaughter since she was 11 was sentenced to 25 years in prison and ordered to be caned the maximum 24 strokes, news reports said on Friday.
The 37-year-old information technology specialist gave police five statements over a three-week period, after his arrest in May 2007, when he confessed in detail.
In court on Thursday, he insisted that there had been no sexual relationship between them at all. “Where's the proof?” The Straits Times quoted him as asking during final arguments in which he defended himself.
The Singapore resident cannot be identified to protect the girl's identity.
The step-father said he gave police “false statements” out of fear and to get the investigations over with so that he could tell the truth when he got to court. “In my fear and using my imagination, I gave such a story as I was told to do so,” he said, noting he had been handled roughly by police officers.
He stuck with the same version in talks with a psychiatrist, claiming he was still frightened. He also complained that the police had not stopped his wife and stepdaughter, both key witnesses, from leaving in August for India.
He claimed that he had been set up by the two of them after they learned of his affair with a colleague.
The Interpol bureau in India has been asked to help find the mother and daughter, now 14.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Gordon Oh said the victim's absence is not a reason for acquittal. The law states that a person can be convicted on his statements to the police as long as the court is satisfied they were made voluntarily.
The law states that anyone who has sex with a child below the age of 14, with or without consent, is guilty of statutory rape.

President Nathan, MM Lee to attend Beijing Olympics
President S R Nathan will attend the Beijing Games from Aug 12 to 16, in support of the Singapore's National Team. MINISTER Mentor Lee Kuan Yew will represent Singapore at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Aug 8, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. MM Lee will return for the National Day celebrations on Aug 9.
Following that, President S R Nathan will attend the Beijing Games from Aug 12 to 16, in support of the Singapore's National Team.
After Beijing, President Nathan will visit Henan and return to Singapore on Aug 18.
So its Eat wind all the way...Enjoyment.

Oh Poor Chink
President S R Nathan said he is especially saddened by the great loss of lives, which include many children and youths, following Monday's earthquake in China.
In his letter to Chinese President Hu Jintao, Mr Nathan praised how the government has mobilised its people and its "unflagging effort and swift response to the disaster, despite the limitations of the terrain and distance".
President Nathan also said he is confident that under President Hu's leadership, China will quickly overcome the consequences of the tragedy and "restore the people's confidence and resoluteness" in facing such a disaster.
Mr Nathan said he hopes the affected regions will return to normalcy as soon as possible.

Singapore Help out in the China's Quake
A 55-STRONG team from Singapore will leave for earthquake-hit Chengdu province in China on Friday to help the local authorities in their search and rescue efforts.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement said the contingent from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) will be led by LTC Ng How Juah, Commander of the 4th Civil Defence Division.
MFA said Singapore is sending the overseas rescue team at China's request.

Ah neh marry angmoh, marriage broke down, kill own kids by stabbing them to death and try to kill himself by burning them in car.

An Indian-origin man is being investigated by the UK police after his two minor sons were found stabbed to death in a burnt car in Glasgow.
Ashok Kalyanjee, the father of six-year-old Paul and two-year-old Jay who were discovered in a blood-spattered car on Saturday, is in critical condition after he suffered burn injuries while allegedly trying to set afire the vehicle.
The police said they were waiting to interview Kalyanjee,40, who is under police guard at a hospital in Glasgow. The police confirmed they were treating the deaths of the two children as murder.
Their mother, Giselle Ross, in a short statement said: “Paul and Jay were beautiful boys who were well-loved by all the family and everyone who knew them.”
The couple are understood to have been separated and Kalyanjee, a former post office worker who was described locally as a taxi driver living in the Cowcaddens area of central Glasgow, had weekend visiting rights to his sons, The Guardian reported.
“They did not deserve to die. Paul wasn’t even allowed to play outside in case he came to any harm,” Ross said.
“Both boys loved their mum they were real mummy’s boys. They are irreplaceable and are greatly missed by all the family.”
Paul had been a well-liked pupil at Royston primary school, said his head teacher, Elizabeth Davidson. “Paul was a lovely, well-behaved, quiet young boy. I’m certain that children who knew Paul and his brother will be devastated when they learn of this tragic news,” she said.
“The school has been made aware of the incident and will be supporting the mother in any way it can. Our thoughts and prayers are with her at this sad time,” she said.

Prataman visits Lord of the Rings
President S R Nathan visited New Zealand from 25 April to 1 May 2008. This was the first State Visit by a Singapore Head of State to New Zealand.
In Wellington, President Nathan met senior New Zealand leaders including Governor-General Anand Satyanand, Prime Minister Helen Clark and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Bill English.
President Nathan was accompanied by Mrs Nathan, Minister for National Development Mr Mah Bow Tan and Mrs Mah, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Balaji Sadasivan and Mrs Sadasivan, Members of Parliament Ms Penny Low and Dr Muhammad Faishal and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Just for Laughes
This is hilarious..... even an Englishman could not construct sentences using numbers, which is exclusive only to Singaporeans.
Musa was asked to make a sentence using 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Not only did he do it 1 to 10, he did it again from 10 back to 1. This is what he came up with.....
1 day I go 2 climb a 3 outside a house to peep. But the couple saw me, so I panic and 4 down. The man rushed out and wanted to 5 with me. I ran until I fell 6 and threw up. So I go into 7-even and grabbed some 8 to throw at him. Then I took a 9 and try to stab at him. 10 God he run away.
10 I put the 9 back and pay for the 8 and left 7 -eleven. Next day I called my boss and told him I was 6 . He said 5 , tomorrow also no need to come back 4 work. He also asked me to go climb a 3and jump down. I don't understand. I am so nice 2 him but I don't know what he 1 .
